Journal #1
Beginning of senior year It is finally my senior year, my last year in high school, in a way I am happy, but at the same time, kinda upset. Being in school has been very stressing these past years so that's why I’m glad its my last year, but I love seeing my friends and playing high school sports so that's the part that sucks about this being my last year. As of right now my senior year is going great!!! I love all my classes for the first year in four years. My teachers aren't so bad either, some of them actually make class fun to be in. For my electives I chose fitness training, wood1, and yearbook. I chose Fitness training because I have always been an athlete and I know that fitness training will help a lot for sports. I chose wood1 because I enjoy working with something that's hands on and I like the feeling I get after making something with just some pieces of wood. I chose yearbook honestly because I wanted to try something new and it would be cool to actually have part in making my senior year yearbook. Currently I am on pace to graduate and on pace on my classes and I am really gonna try my best all year to stay on pace. The reason I am on pace to graduate is because I have been focused on my work and been trying really hard to not fall behind. My junior year I didn't get to play basketball for the whole season and missed half of baseball season because I didn't have grades. So right now that is my motivation to stay on pace. Sports are a really important part of my life. I also stay on pace because my parents have given me so much since I was a little kid and all they have asked to do was to be a good person and do well on school and because I promised my walking partner I would graduate. Of course I am looking forward to a bunch of exciting things this year for senior year, but what i'm looking forward to the most are sports. Its a good feeling to be in front of a big crowd hearing all the fans cheer for you and competing against different schools. I play basketball and baseball and both sports are just so fun to me. Some of the things that make sports so fun are that whether you win or lose you are always with your friends. Also the bus rides can be fun too and after getting a win going and getting something to eat with your friends talking about all the great plays. My goals for this year are to of course graduate and play sports. I also wanna be more apart of the school, like join some clubs or help with a lot of different things. My goals for the future after school is over is to go to a community college and join the fire academy to become a firefighter. Hopefully if I stay focused and work hard everything will go as planned.
Journal #2 Second semester is finally done
Well it's finally the end of the first semester so that's very good for me because I am looking forward to our three week vacation. Not a lot has changed for me since school started. Everything is pretty much the same; the only thing different now though is that I am playing a sport so it makes getting my work done a lot harder.
As of right now I am passing five out of seven classes, which is one class less that i'm passing since the last grading period. My classes aren't really that hard, but I have gotten a lot more lazier since I started playing basketball so I don't do my work as much. I know it's no excuse to fall behind so I know I have to start pushing myself to do my work a lot more. Math on the other hand it's not because I am lazy it's just really hard for me to understand. Before the semester ends I need to accomplish on finishing a lot of work for history and for math. In my english class i'm not so far behind i'm just like two assignments behind so it's not that bad. I honestly feel that by the end of the semester i'll be back to passing six out of seven classes. I know that if I want to get on pace for math that i'll have to start staying after school everyday.
Some difficulties that I am having with my senior project is that I really don't know how to set up everything or know how to use the website. I also haven't been able to do my job shadow yet. The website to me is just so confusing to use, there are a lot of complicated things about it. I know for a fact that I am going to have a hard time with the senior project. What I am enjoying about the senior project though is knowing that at the end it will look very nice. So far my favorite part from the senior project was life map we had to do. I put so much effort and time into that and I had have fun doing it. It was kinda stressful only because i'm not a very good artist so I had to redo my drawings a lot but it was still fun. I wish more of our assignments were fun like the life map was.
Something I am enjoying about my senior year is that I have been a lot more focused on my work then I have been last year. I am proud that I don't get easily distracted or easily off task as much as I did last year. Another thing that I like about my senior year is that I am in the basketball team. Basketball is one of the two sports I play and I didn't make grades to play last year so I am very excited I get to play this year. That pretty much wraps up how the end of my semester has been going.
Journal #3 Winter Break The three weeks of our winter vacation are sadly over. I had so much fun over the three weeks; I did so many things. I really did not want it to end nothing is better then sleeping in and just relaxing and having fun. I spent a lot of time out with my friends and was able to play my new game system that my mom had bought me. I had also gone to mexico twice, once was to take my mom and sister, and the second time was to take my uncle and his family. The tacos over there are really delicious. I had also gone to L.A to go to universal studios with my dad and cousins. We went to all the rides and most of the shows they had there. The food we had there was very good too but expensive. The next day we had gone to the mall in Bakersfield and started shopping. I had bought a new pair of shoes, three shirts, and two pair of shorts. We bought a new dog too so I had plenty of time to play with him and try to train him a little. I had also gone to Santa maria for Three days for a tournament with my basketball team, it was so much fun. The hotel room was amazing and the breakfast was okay. We had won two out of four games so we weren't so bad. On the way back we had stooped at pismo beach and I tried the clam chowder for the first time, it was very good. Reflecting from my first semester what I love the most was being able to play basketball for awhile. I wasn't able to make it through the whole season because of grades, but I was happy to be apart of it for a while. What I regret was not working hard enough in my math class. That made everything so much harder and so much stressful for me now. There is so much math homework piled up its hard to keep track of where i'm at in that class. The fact that this is my last semester has finally hit me. After this i am no longer a high school student, no more being part of high school sports, or high school activities. I am so shocked at the fact that im months away from graduating high school. People were right when they said that high school would go by fast. Before my semester is over and before graduating my main goal is to accomplish on finishing my math class. I am confidant that I will pass all my other classes, but when it comes to math I just have a lot of trouble with it. I double blocked that class though so hopefully that will be enough help for me. I am determined to do what it takes to graduate high school. For collage applications I have only applied to collage of the sequoias that's in visalia. Two years of collage is all that i'm planning to do.

Second Semester
The time for graduating is almost here! We are finally going to be done with high school, I know I am very excited, but at the same time I know im going to miss being in high school. In all honesty, I am really nervous about graduation for many reasons. The graduation itself, I’m really not that nervous, what gets me nervous is that after High School everything is going to change in life. It is going to be a new beginning in life and I am going to have to make sure that I start it right.
There are many things I have done already for post graduation. After High School I will be going to Oregon during the summer for a job as Wild Land Fire Fighter. The down side about that is that I’ll be gone my whole summer maybe, but the upside is that I will make a lot of money so I’ll be able to have some money saved in the bank. As of right now I have already taken the classes that I needed to be able to go and have met all the requirements. After the summer I will hopefully attened COS when the spring semester starts. My goal is to take 2 years in COS plus the fire accademy , as well as getting a part time job and to then hopefully get a full time job as a city or county fire fighter. As of right now I still need to complete all my classes to make sure I can graduate with my senior class. My toughest class right now is math, but I am sure I will pass it.
What I am most looking foward to is to finally proving to myself and everyone else that I made it. I wanna be able to go do things on my own and show that I was raised and taught well in life. Proving that you can go and take care of yourself will propabaly be of the greatest accomplishments to me so that is why I am looking foward to that. Something else I am looking foward to is the graduation and grad night. I cant wait to just go and recive my diploma in front of everyone. I know my parents will be very proud just like I am. One thing I am very greatful for are my parents. They have been there for everything that I needed help on and they have pushed me to do my very best. My parents have always been my greatest inspiration. Something I am very happy for is are all my friends that have made High School fun for me. If it wasn’t for them then school would have been really boring. Looking back on senior year I would have wished I took school more serious so that I wouldn’t have to stress as much about my work. Other then that I have had so much fun this year with all my friends.
